Brisbane Roar will head into the A-League finals in devastating form after thumping derby rivals Gold Coast 4-0 at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.

Returning to their flood-ravaged home ground for the first time since early January, the Roar celebrated their premiership in style as they extended their remarkable unbeaten run to 25 games in front of a season-high crowd of 20,381.

Kosta Barbarouses got the home side off to a perfect start in the third minute before Erik Paartalu doubled the lead just before half-time.

Henrique added a third on 66 minutes when he slotted a goal past Gold Coast keeper Glen Moss to put the result beyond doubt, before Brisbane put the icing on the cake five minutes before full-time when Thomas Broich scored.

Matt Smith had a chance to make it five but Moss reacted brilliantly to stop the headed shot.

Meanwhile, Nick Carle spoiled the party of former Socceroos stars John Aloisi and Josip Skoko with his late goal earning Sydney FC a 2-2 draw against Melbourne Heart.

Carle played gatecrasher in the 88th minute when his left-foot strike from 18 yards rocketed past Heart goalkeeper Clint Bolton and into the bottom right-hand corner.

It proved a cruel finish considering Aloisi appeared to have ended his career in storybook fashion by putting 10-man Heart 2-1 up on 62 minutes.

Carle had earlier put Sydney FC 1-0 up through a 34th-minute penalty.

Rutger Worm levelled proceedings seven minutes later and Heart overcame the controversial send-off of Gerald Sibon on 44 minutes to move 2-1 up thanks to Aloisi.
