Espanyol defender Aaaron Martin has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United, ESPN has reported.
Manchester United are short of options at left-back with Luke Shaw largely failing to impress Jose Mourinho. The former Southampton man is not the same player he was before the tragic injury he sustained in a Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven and his Manchester United career appears to be over.
Jose Mourinho has been using Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young on the left this season and is looking for a permanent solution to problematic position.
The 20-year-old Aaron Martin is believed to have been earmarked as a long-term option.
Martin has impressed for Espanyol in the early La Liga exchanges, having played every minute for his club. Manchester United have sent scouts to watch martin in action and Red Devils representatives were in attendance to watch Aaron Martin play against Levante on Friday night.
Espanyol defender is under contract until 2022 and Manchester United will have to present the La Liga outfit with a tempting offer in order to get their man during winter.
