Competition: Scottish Premiership
Market: Aberdeen win
Odds: 17/20 @ 888sport
Given extra time off, Aberdeen should be confident of making an immediate return to winning ways when they travel to Ross County on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Ross County might have managed to land a much-needed 2-0 win against Hibernian when drawing a close to 2020, it appears that could have just been a minor bounce for the Staggies. Still sat rock-bottom of the table and tipped by many to be the leading relegation scrapper this season, John Hughes’ men were last seen putting in another sluggish display away at a high-flying Livingston. Shipping two late goals and eventually leaving the Tony Macaroni Arena on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat, County have managed to win just one of their last 15 Premiership matchups, a run that stems all the way back to September 19th. With a growing reputation for their issues on home soil and without a win to their name in Dingwall since the opening weekend, they should face another stern test on Saturday afternoon.
As for the visitors, after seeing their midweek showdown against Livingston scrapped due to a waterlogged pitch, Aberdeen should be relishing a return to action this weekend. While they might have been seen putting on a spirited display against runaway leaders Rangers earlier in the month, the Dons were hit with a close-fought 2-1 defeat. Never the less, still sat as high as third and with another European finish at the top of their agenda, Head Coach Derek McInnes has seen his side lose just a single top-flight matchup since November 22nd. Smelling a real chance to make an immediate return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, the Dons should also be boosted by a rampant record against this weekend’s hosts. Including a 2-0 win when they faced off against County last month, Aberdeen have won nine of their last 10 meetings against County.
