Abidal pushing for Thiago deal?

According to Sport.es, Barcelona are still interested in bringing in another midfielder during the summer transfer window – with Thiago Alcantara being the preferred option. Despite Arthur arriving less than 24 hours ago, it seems as if the Spanish champions are willing to do whatever it takes in the transfer market in order to hold onto their title and push for the Champions League crown as well.

The club’s technical secretary, Eric Abidal, is supposedly one of the individuals pushing this move the hardest. Thiago, 27, was with Barca from 2005 all the way through till 2013 before departing for a new adventure in Germany with Bayern Munich. Over the course of the last five years, he’s continued to prove why he was always such a highly valued playmaker, helping to guide Bayern back towards the top of European football.

Now, however, Barca appear to be gearing up for one of the biggest returns that the club has seen in recent times.
