Italian giants AC Milan are set to complete the deal for Lanus defender Gustavo Gomez, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Rossoneri have so far recruited Leonel Vangioni and Gianluca Lapadula, and they are set to make the Paraguayan defender their third signing of the summer transfer window.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims that AC Milan have reached an agreement with Lanus, thus beating league rivals Fiorentina to the player’s signature.
Gustavo Gomez will sign a five-year deal at Stadio San Siro subject to passing a medical, and he will be a welcoming addition to the squad after Cristian Zapata and Rodrigo Ely both picked up serious injuries.
The 23-year-old has decided to leave Lanus after winning the league title in Argentina, and it looks as though Italy will be his next destination.
Gomez featured in 58 league matches after joining from Libertad, failing to score a single goal, but amassing 17 yellow cards in the process.
