French daily newspaper L’Equipe has suggested that AC Milan have joined the race to sign Marseille midfielder Gianelli Imbula.
OM have no choice but to cash in on their prized asset this summer, seeing as the club need money for new recruits.
And while Imbula was on the verge of joining Inter Milan after the two clubs had reached an agreement over the transfer fee, the Nerazzurri could pull out of the deal having splashed €40 million on Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The highly rated midfielder is also on the radar of Valencia and it is believed he prefers a move to Mestalla, but los Che have yet to make a concrete proposal.
Meanwhile, AC Milan appear to have joined the race as some sources claim the Rossoneri have matched Inter’s offer for Imbula.
The three-horse race is likely to be decided in the coming days, with Marseille obviously looking to sell to the highest bidder.
