Belgian media outlet Sudinfo has claimed that AC Milan have all but agreed to recruit Zenit midfielder Axel Witsel.
The Belgium hotshot appears ready to quit the Russian Premier League and join a top European side, and he was believed to be close to signing for Juventus.
But, the latest reports suggest that AC Milan have moved to the front of the queue, with the Rossoneri set to seal a €30 million deal for the 26-year-old footballer.
Witsel joined Zenit three years ago from Benfica in a mega money transfer, and he in turn managed to justify the hefty price tag with some strong performances.
The highly rated footballer went on to score 12 goals in 77 league appearances despite operating as a holding midfielders, earning himself quite a few admirers among Europe’s top sides.
Witsel now looks set to join AC Milan, with the Rossoneri expected to spend heavily this summer.
