hot-transfer-newsAC Milan eyeing Brahimi

French daily newspaper Le Buteur is reporting that AC Milan are hot on the trail of FC Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi.

The Rossoneri will have money to spend next summer in case Chinese investor Poe Qui Ying Wangsuo buys into the club as expected.

As a result, AC Milan will attempt to recruit several high-profile players, with FC Porto’s Yacine Brahimi reportedly their primary target.

The Algerian has largely impressed since joining the Dragons from Granada, and he has already bagged 12 goals in competitive appearances.

Brahimi scored a screamer to help Porto hammer FC Basel in the Champions League first knockout stage, while he also played full ninety minutes in weekend’s win over Arouca.

The 25-year-old is believed to be on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, while few more top sides could join the race for his services.

Atletico lead chase for Castro

Atletico Madrid have emerged as favourites to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Gonzalo Castro, according to Bild.

Los Colchoneros boss Diego Simeone was impressed with the 27-year-old midfielder as the two sides met in the Champions League first knockout stage and he is considering a summer bid for his services.

Atletico could stay without Mario Suarez at the end of the season and they believe Castro would be an excellent addition to the squad at Vicente Calderon.

Their top 4 rivals Valencia are also believed to be keen on the player who has Spanish roots and is reportedly a big fan of La Liga.

Gonzalo Castro, 27, has spent his entire professional career at Bay Arena, making 281 Bundesliga appearances and scoring 23 goals.

After eliminating Bayer Leverkusen to reach the quarter-finals, Atletico Madrid can be backed at 9/2 to reach the Champions League final for the second year running.

Hamburg keen on Cedric Soares

Bundesliga strugglers Hamburg SV are showing interest in Sporting Lisbon defender Cedric Soares, O Jogo can reveal.

The Red Shorts have recently had their scouts watch the talented full-back in action with a view of luring the 23-year-old to Imtech Arena in the summer.

That will be no easy task though considering that the likes of Schalke, Bayer Leverkusen, Hannover, Arsenal and Napoli are all casting admiring glances his way.

Cedric Soares has a contract until June 2016 at Estadio Jose Alvalade, and it remains to be seen whether he will be signing a new deal with the Lions.

The German-born footballer has been putting in some strong performances in Primeira Liga and Champions League, so no wonder he has a long list of admirers among Europe’s top sides.

Cedric is the product of Sporting’s famed youth academy and has so far featured in 62 league matches for the Lions.
