Italian giants AC Milan are being linked with a winter bid for FC Porto midfielder Gianelli Imbula, L’Equipe has suggested.
The highly rated footballer became the Dragon’s record signing when he joined for €25 million this summer from Marseille, but he has had a disappointing start to his career in Portugal.
After struggling to make an impact in his first five appearances, the 23-year-old has now been involved in a clash with coach Julen Lopetegui.
According to the latest reports, the Spanish tactician has already lost patience with Imbula and he wouldn’t mind cashing in on his services in the winter.
L’Equipe has suggested that AC Milan are ready to take advantage of the opportunity and lure the holding midfielder to Stadio San Siro in the January window.
Gianelli Imbula is highly unlikely to start tonight’s Champions League clash against Chelsea, where Porto are 13/10 to emerge victorious.
