According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan are no longer going to pursue Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis. The 53 year old was reportedly offered a €4 million annual salary but on top of that, he requested a series of incentives that the Italians weren’t willing to negotiate over. Now, it seems as if Milan are looking elsewhere in order to fill in the gap.
Gazidis was believed to be on their radar as a man who could substantially improve their brand value, which is something that is more important than ever in the current landscape of world football. If the deal would’ve gone through then it could’ve created something of a ripple effect for Arsenal, both in terms of what they are able to produce on the pitch and who they’re able to bring into the club off of it.
Arsenal’s domestic season resumes this weekend when they face Newcastle United.
