Italian giants AC Milan are hot on the trail of their former captain Thiago Silva, according to Brazilian media outlet UOL.
The Rossoneri’s downtrend in fortunes coincided with Silvio Berlusconi’s controversial decision to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain, and the Serie A outfit will now attempt to correct their mistake.
While they failed to persuade the Swedish superstar to return to San Siro, they hope Thiago Silva would be interested in coming back.
Considering that the Brazilian’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain is due to expire in a year’s time and that he does not seem ready to extend, the Rossoneri hope the highly rated footballer will join them on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.
With new owners set to allocate significant transfer funds, AC Milan believe they can meet Silva’s wage demands and secure the return of the prodigal son next summer.
