La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Serie A outfit AC Milan are showing interest in Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic, among other players.
The Rossoneri are in the market for midfield reinforcements and they are obviously well aware of the qualities of the former Inter Milan hotshot.
AC Milan chiefs Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli flew to Lisbon to watch Kovacic in action, but he was not the only player on their radar.
The Rossoneri also made a check on William Carvalho and Gelson Martins, the Sporting CP duo that has caught the eye of quite a few top clubs.
Buoyed by the promising start to the season and the arrival of new owners, AC Milan plan to seriously reinforce their ranks in the January transfer window, hoping to finally secure the first appearance in Europe’s elite competition since the 2013/2014 season.
The Rossoneri occupy third place in the standings after a 2-2 draw against Inter Milan.
