Serie A heavyweights AC Milan have reportedly approached Chelsea over a potential January move for Cesc Fabregas.
The central midfielder has linked with Rossoneri for quite some time now but the Italian media report that club chiefs Leonardo and Maldini have expressed personal interest in wrapping the deal for the Spaniard this winter.
It is even suggested that AC Milan officials have established the initial contact with the 31-year-old over a move to San Siro.
Fabregas made 49 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season but saw his first-team opportunities get limited to a mere 48 minutes of Premier League football this campaign.
The Spaniard’s contract is expiring at the end of the season and he is free to open talks with interested parties and sign a pre-contract agreement.
AC Milan are hoping to persuade Cesc Fabregas to choose Serie A and switch over to Italy at the end of the season.
