The January transfer window for Europe’s top leagues might have closed but football clubs around the world still have plenty of time to make purchases and bolster their ranks.
With that in mind, Argentine clubs have it until Thursday 19:00 GMT before the transfer window shuts and they’ve already laid a plan to sign the AC Milan defender Gustavo Gomez.
The Italian media report the Paraguay international will be allowed to leave Rossoneri given that he does not feature in Gennaro Gattuso’s plans.
The Italian giants have named their price for the 24-year-old and are holding out for a €7 million fee with a 20% sell-on fee or €8.5 outright for his signature.
The Paraguay defender has endured a difficult season at San Siro, having been granted mere 10 minutes of action with Rossoneri this term.
AC Milan are currently sitting in seventh in Serie A and are ten points adrift of their city rivals Inter Milan occupying the fourth place in the standings.
