AC Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Argentine defender Emanuel Mammana from River Plate, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Rossoneri have finally found a solid centre-back pairing in Alessio Romagnoli and Alex, but with Philippe Mexes and Cristian Zapata expected to leave in the summer, they plan to further rejuvenate their back line.
Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that AC Milan have made River Plate youngster Emanuel Mammana one of their primary targets for the summer transfer window.
The talented footballer was on the verge of joining Fiorentina in January, but the two clubs ultimately failed to find an agreement.
It is believed that River Plate want at least €9 million for their prized asset, which shouldn’t be a problem for the Rossoneri.
After winning six of their last eight games in all competitions, AC Milan are available at 5/1 to defeat Napoli at Stadio San Paolo.
