According to reports in Italy, AC Milan were priced out of a potential deadline day move for Gerard Deulofeu. The former Spain international has been with Watford since signing a permanent contract with the Hornets last year, with the indication being that they wanted £26 million from Milan in order to get the deal pushed through. Deulofeu isn’t Milan’s only major target, however, with reports also suggesting that Everton star Ademola Lookman is on their radar in the summer.
That could indicate that Milan were looking ahead to the future as opposed to thinking about the present, which makes sense. January is a hectic time anyway in the world of football and the transfer window adds to that, which is probably why Milan decided to be a bit more reserved and hold back on putting forward an offer of that magnitude.
Deulofeu made the jump to Watford from Spanish giants Barcelona.
