AC Milan pursue Calhanoglu talks

According to a recent report from Sky Sport Italia, AC Milan are set to resume contract talks with Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent in the next few weeks.

It’s no secret that Manchester United have been very interested in the prospect of trying to sign Calhanoglu, but up to this point, no deal has quite come to fruition. Milan are clearly eager to keep hold of him, but we may not get a clear idea of just how serious they are about getting a deal done until United make another formal approach.

Milan are currently riding high at the top of the Serie A table but if they’re serious about keeping that going, they can’t afford to lose too many first team stars. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still the talisman within this side and nobody is going to deny that fact but if Calhanoglu does go, it could send the wrong message to the rest of Europe’s top sides.
