Italian giants AC Milan are weighing up January move for Atletico Madrid full-back Sime Vrsaljko, Mundo Deportivo has suggested.
The Rossoneri are not entirely happy with their full-back options that include Ignazio Abate, Mattia De Sciglio, Luca Antonelli and Leonel Vangioni, and they are thinking about recruiting the Croatian defender.
Sime Vrsaljko snubbed interest from Italy’s top sides to join Atletico Madrid in the summer, but he has so far made just one league appearance.
As a result, AC Milan could offer the 24-year-old an escape route from Vicente Calderon in the January transfer window.
The problem is that Atletico Madrid would not be able to sign a replacement due to their transfer ban, so it remains to be seen whether they will be prepared to let Vrsaljko leave.
Sime Vrsaljko has plenty of Serie A experience, having made a total of 78 league appearances for Genoa and Sassuolo.
