AC Milan are keen to sign Mauro Icardi from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in Italy (via AS).
The Rossoneri have risen to the top of the Serie A table with five rounds gone. They won the opening four games before being held to a 2-2 draw against AS Roma on Monday. Stefano Pioli’s team owe much of their recent success to the unbelievable form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who netted four times in his last two league outings. The 39-year-old Swede now has six league goals in three appearances, and that with a recent struggle against Covid-19 to boot.
Milan also boast plenty of talented young players which provides the squad with good balance, and they now apparently see Icardi as the missing piece of the puzzle. The former Inter Milan man cannot be sure of a regular place in the starting XI at PSG with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel Di Maria there, and head coach Thomas Tuchel reluctant to play with four attacking players.
