Italian giants AC Milan are readying summer bid for Lyon forward Memphis Depay, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Rossoneri have been impressed with the former Manchester United winger and sporting director Massimo Mirabelli made one final check on his target in yesterday’s friendly between Italy and Holland.
AC Milan officials are eager to lure Depay to Stadio San Siro, but Lyon’s €40 million valuation may prove to be the problem.
The Rossoneri will need to sell before they can buy new players due to FIFA Financial Fair Play regulations, and they have decided to sacrifice the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Suso.
The two highly rated footballers didn’t cost much when they arrived in Milan, meaning their sales will represent capital gain and seriously improve the club’s chances of avoiding FIFA sanctions.
Meanwhile, their target Memphis Depay has enjoyed an excellent season at Parc OL, scoring 22 goals and providing 17 assists in 51 competitive fixtures.
