AC Milan are ready to compete with their arch-rivals Inter Milan for the signature of Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Matic, the two-time Premier League winner with Chelsea, arrived to Old Trafford from Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2017, with Jose Mourinho keen on rekindling his working relationship with the Serbia international. However, the rapid rise of Scott McTominay who is now mostly the preferred midfield partner for Paul Pogba under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has caused Matic to spend less that 90 minutes on the pitch altogether through the opening five rounds of the season.
Inter have been mentioned before as a club to possibly offer the 31-year-old midfielder a route out, but now it seems that the Rossoneri are interested as well. Matic may be willing to consider a stint in the Serie A, having spent a decade on the books of English clubs so far, but it remains to be seen which Milan club he would prefer as his next employer.
