La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that AC Milan officials are working hard in an attempt to sign a replacement for forward M’Baye Niang.
The Frenchman will become the second player to join Watford from Serie A this winter, following in the footsteps of Mauro Zarate, but his desire to move to England appears to have ended the Rossoneri’s pursuit of Lucas Ocampos.
Namely, Genoa were hoping to get Niang in exchange for the Argentine winger, meaning that AC Milan may be forced to look elsewhere.
Reports in Italy suggest that Ocampos’ teammate Darko Lazovic is also on the Rossoneri’s radar, even though he was mostly used as right full-back this season.
At the same time, AC Milan are looking at Napoli reject Emanuele Giaccherini, who is also being linked with a winter exit.
Despite recruiting Gerard Deulofeu, the Rossoneri clearly plan to sign another attack-minded footballer by the end of the January window.
