According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan are set to go after Diego Godin when his contract expires next summer. The Uruguay international has been viewed as one of the best defenders in world football for years now, and he only strengthened that reputation this past summer at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Godin joined Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in 2010 and has been there ever since, playing a huge role in their rise up through the ranks both domestically and in Europe. Back in the summer Manchester United were believed to be interested in a last minute deal to bring him to Old Trafford, but it never materialised.
Atletico have been known to be very stubborn when it comes to keeping hold of their stars so it won’t be an easy departure if he was to leave, but at the age of 32, now would be the time to make such a big decision as he enters the final few chapters of his storied career.
