According to a recent report from Sky Sports, talks between AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur over Serge Aurier have broken down.
The reason behind the delay stems from the valuation that both clubs have for him, with Milan not quite reaching the level that Spurs are demanding. With Jose Mourinho bringing Matt Doherty into the fold it’s clear to see that there isn’t going to be much of a future for Aurier in North London, and as a result, he needs to look elsewhere for first team football.
Milan are tipped to come back in for Aurier later on in the transfer window but they do need to be aware of Bayer Leverkusen’s increased interest.
Aurier enjoyed a handful of positive moments during his stint with Spurs but as time went on, it quickly became apparent that his style simply wasn’t going to fit into the system that had been put in place there.
