Accies snap up Hasselbaink’s nephew

Hamilton Academical have completed the signing of ex Chelsea forward Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s nephew Nigel Hasselbaink on a free transfer. The 19 year old has signed for Accies following a successful recent trial with the SPL club. Hasselbaink was looking for a new club following his release from Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

Hasselbaink, who will celebrate his 20th birthday in November this year, started his career at PSV but failed to break into the first team. He was then loaned out to Go Ahead Eagles in the second half of the 09/10 season and made his league debut for them.

Hasselbaink could make his league debut for Accies this weekend against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
