Competition: League One
Market: Accrington Stanley double chance
Odds: 8/13 @ 888sport
With the chance to move within touching distance of the play-off spots, Accrington Stanley will make the trip to Wiltshire when they face off against Swindon on Tuesday night.
Starting with the hosts, while Swindon might have managed to come from behind and grab a dramatic point against Shrewsbury thanks to a stunning 3-3 draw over the weekend, new boss John Sheridan finds his squad firmly battling it out at the foot of the table. Struggling to find their feet since romping their way to the League Two title last year, the Reds have managed to collect just four points from their last seven third-tier outings and have a real reputation for their worrying issues at the back. Despite managing to score a trio of strikes on the road last time out, Swindon have shipped seven goals in their back-to-back League One defeats, including that thumping 4-2 defeat against Plymouth earlier in the month. It should be noted that Tuesday’s hosts have conceded over 1.5 goals in four of their last five appearances.
As for the visitors, while the mood around Wiltshire might be at a continued low, Accrington Stanley have impressed over the past six weeks and many of John Coleman’s camp are dreaming of a play-off charge. Collecting a 1-0 win away at Northampton over the weekend and with the chance to move within striking distance of the top-seven, they have won three of their last four matchups across all formats and it should also be noted that the midweek guests have managed to clinch back-to-back victories on their travels. With their recent resurge highlighted by a shock 1-0 win against fellow promotion hopefuls Fleetwood at the Wham Stadium last month, there is no doubt that Accrington will make the trip to Wiltshire confident of leaving with something to show for themselves on Tuesday.
