A battle of two of the heavy-hitters in the Western Conference, on Sunday night Bob Bradley’s high-flying Los Angeles FC side will welcome the Portland Timbers to the Banc of California Stadium.

Starting with former USA national boss Bob Bradley, along with booking their spot in the quarterfinals of the US Open Cup last month, the MLS’ latest side are arguably the most eye-catching side in either conference. Holding by far the best-attacking record in the West, the hosts have now remarkably scored 21 in their last seven and Bradley will be looking for former Hull City striker Adama Diomandé to carry on his own stellar run of form. The 28-year-old scored a brace in the 4-1 win over Orlando City last time and since joining at the end of May, he now has nine in his last six. Backing Los Angeles #99 to find the net on Sunday seems like a safe bet here.

As for The Timbers, although they might be sat six points behind their opponents on Sunday, Giovanni Savarese’s side are also enjoying a fine run of form. Coming off the back of a 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes last week, Portland have remarkably not lost any matchup in their last 13, a run that stems back to the start of April. With Portland scheduled to meet Los Angeles in the quarter-finals of the cup aswell next week, we expect chances at both ends of the pitch come Sunday night. Scoring six in their last three, they have however shipped four in return and have not recorded a clean sheet in their last three, something Savarese will want to improve.
