Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor is on the verge of finding a new club, according to a report in French daily newspaper L’Equipe.
The 32-year-old has been a free agent since his contract with Crystal Palace expired in June, and he has been linked with quite a few clubs of late.
Adebayor’s representatives were in talks with Lyon, Fulham, Risespor and clubs from China, but the negotiations failed to produce the desired result.
Nevertheless, L’Equipe claims that the experienced striker could now continue his career in United Arab Emirates, where Al Wasl are showing interest.
The UAE clubs have until midnight today to recruit new players, meaning there is not too much time for the deal to be completed.
The controversial striker spent the majority of his career in England, representing Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Crystal Palace, scoring a total of 97 Premier League goals, but he failed to lift the coveted trophy.
