Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor explains that he would like to remain at White Hart Lane after his loan deal ends in the summer.
The Togolese forward joined Tottenham on loan from Manchester City in August and has made an instant impact at White Hart Lane.
The 27-year-old scored 10 goals and set up 7 more in 22 Premier League games, thus helping Spurs remain in the Premiership title fight.
Adebayor now reveals that he would like to stay at White Hart Lane and help Spurs realize their title ambitions.
“I would love to stay at Tottenham and help them become champions,” Adebayor was quoted as saying in The Sun.
The player believes Redknapp’s confidence in his abilities has helped him become a better player this season.
“And I really enjoy working with this manager. Harry Redknapp has done so much to give me my confidence back.
“He told me, ‘Whether you score or you don’t score, you are a great player. You make goals, you work hard, you run for the team, you defend for the team. Your presence alone gives more space to others like Bale and Van der Vaart’.”
Tottenham chiefs will do everything they can to make Adebayor’s loan move permanent at the end of the season, but the player would probably have to accept a pay cut in order to stay at White Hart Lane.
