Premier League big spenders Manchester City have reportedly entered talks to sign Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to Sky Sports News.
The Togo international, who has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer, was looking towards the next season with the Gunners, after his agent recently stated he would be staying at the Gunners.
However, with a number of clubs in Europe interested, it is now understood that talks between club City and their Premier League rivals over a possible deal have begun.
The 25-year-old signed for the Gunners from Monaco in 2006 and has scored 62 goals in 142 appearances for the north London club.
If the deal goes through, Adebayor could become City’s third signing of the season with Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz arriving from Aston Villa and Blackburn, respectively.
But, City manager Mark Hughes is also close to landing former Manchester United forward Carlos Tevez with Chelsea captain John Terry a potential known target.
