Adel Taarabt agrees Benfica switch

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola understands that Benfica are set to complete the signing of Moroccan midfielder Adel Taarabt.

The highly rated footballer became a free agent as he was released by Queens Park Rangers and he has now agreed to join the Eagles this summer.

Taarabt is already in Lisbon and he is expected to sign a long-term deal after passing a medical during the day.

The 26-year-old has spent the majority of his career so far in England, representing Tottenham, QPR and Fulham, while also enjoying a very successful loan spell with AC Milan.

Taarabt was linked to quite a few top sides after returning from San Siro, but the move never materialised and he went on to make mere seven Premier League appearances last season.

The move to Benfica will serve as a new start for the player with undoubted potential and the Eagles fans will be hoping the Moroccan can replicate the form that made him a real star in England.
