Valencia star Adil Rami has added fuel to speculations linking him with a summer exit from Mestalla by admitting he would like to join a top club.
The 27-year-old has been a rock at the back for los Che ever since he joined the club from Lille two years back, but it looks as though the La Liga side can no longer match his ambitions.
Rami was the subject of an approach from Anzhi in the winter transfer window, but he reveals he was not interested in a move to Russia.
“I am not going to Anzhi Makhachkala, despite a good proposal”, the France interantional said to Le Parisien.
Nevertheless, the experienced defender has confessed that he is looking to leave Valencia at the earliest opportunity.
“I have not said my last word with Les Bleus and I will consider this when making my choice. A move to England? Maybe. I need to be playing for a big European club.”
Rami, who was paid €6 million in the summer of 2011, has made a total of 57 La Liga appearances for the Mestalla outfit and scored 2 goals in the process.
