Inter Milan are set to slap a 150,000 euros fine on Brazilian striker Adriano after he missed the first training session of the year, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported Sunday.
The club have demanded “the maximum punishment” – worth 30 percent of the player's January salary, which is equivalent to 150.000 euros.
Inter will present their demand to the Italian league's disciplinary authorities, according to Gazzetta.
Adriano, who had been on holiday in Brazil, did not show up for training on January 2 at Inter's' Appiano Gentile training complex.
“I think he has to understand we want him to be happy and to work in the same conditions as others in order to be comfortable in himself and contribute to the work of the team,” Inter's Argentine skipper Javier Zanetti told the club website on the subject.
Inter have lost patience with the wayward Adriano, 26, who coach Jose Mourinho is seemingly ready to offload.
