Adriano’s agent has categorically denied that his client is poised to make a sensational return to Italy.
The Brazil international left Inter Milan under a cloud in April, bringing to an end a turbulent eight-year stint at Giuseppe Meazza.
The 27-year-old frontman has since revealed that his exit from Inter was hastened by a drink problem, with the Serie A outfit having grown tired of his off-field dramas.
Adriano headed back to his homeland in order to get his career back on track and has enjoyed a productive spell at Flamengo since returning to South America.
That has led to reports that he could be willing to contemplate a return to Europe, with AC Milan rumoured to be interested in his services.
Adriano’s representative, Gilmar Rinaldi, had initially hinted that the striker could be lured back to Milan, but has now dashed any such talk by insisting that his client will remain in Brazil until at least next summer.
“Will Adriano go to Milan? I categorically deny that,” he told Sky Italia.
“Adriano is in the Brazil squad, there is definitely nothing official.
“I’m a friend of (Milan general director) Ariedo Braida but no-one knows anything.
“Adriano is very happy at Flamengo, he is leading the Brazilian goalscoring charts even though he has played six less games than others, but at the moment he wants to remain in Brazil until the World Cup.
“That’s the plan at the moment. He could leave in January but he wants to remain in Brazil until May.”
