Dutch manager Dick Advocaat revealed that his time at Zenit St Petersburg is probably about to come to its end.
The former Netherlands and Glasgow Rangers boss mentioned this at the celebration of his 61st birthday, with Russian prime minister Putin among the guests.
“I have to take an important decision because my family wants me to come home,” said the coach.
“It is very important whether we manage to win the championship again. If not, I’ll have to rethink everything.”
Zenit have shown a disappointing performance this season, and trail the leaders (Rubin) by seventeen points. With eight matches to go, title prolongation seems unlikely.
