Claiming a 14th European crown after a 1-0 victory against Liverpool on May 28th, Real Madrid really managed to wrap up what was a stunning campaign for the Spanish heavyweights.
Enjoying a famous night in Paris as they edged their way past the Premier League outfit, Carlo Ancelotti’s men also claimed a domestic and Champions League double in the Spanish capital.
However, despite reclaiming their La Liga title in some style last season, there is no doubt that Los Blancos would have been disappointed to have missed out on a couple of superstar names.
Left frustrated to have seen long-term target Kylian Mbappe sign a blockbuster new deal with PSG, Ancelotti’s side also had to watch on as Manchester City snapped up Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.
Having to go back to the drawing board ahead of the summer transfer window, we have taken a look at the new names that are reportedly on Madrid’s wishlist.
Aurélien Tchouaméni – Monaco
While it might have been suggested over recent times that Paul Pogba could be on his way to Real Madrid when he becomes a free agent, it appears that another French midfielder is at the top of Los Blancos’ wishlist.
With it looking like Ancelotti’s side are going all out in their pursuit of Monaco’s Aurélien Tchouaméni, Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday evening that a deal between the two clubs is getting closer.
Spearheading a Monaco side that managed to clinch a Champions League return this season, the 22-year-old has only continued to gain a host of admirers from across Europe.
Seen as an ideal fit to come in and work alongside the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro, there have even been some suggestions that a deal could reach as high as €100million.
Already earning nine caps for defending world champions France, Romano also reported last week that Ancelotti’s side and Tchouaméni’s entourage have already agreed on personal terms.
Fending off interest from Liverpool, that arrival of Tchouaméni will be seen as quite the statement from Madrid.
Gabriel Jesus – Manchester City
After watching Manchester City snap up Norweigan superstar Haaland from under their noses, it has been suggested that Madrid now have their sights set on seeking a deal for another Etihad striker.
While leading Ballon d’Or contender Karim Benzema might have enjoyed a famous campaign in the Spanish capital after spearheading Madrid’s double-winning charge, Ancelotti is keen on adding some attacking depth.
With Haaland’s arrival in Manchester stealing plenty of headlines, there has been growing speculation that Gabriel Jesus will be on his way out of the Etihad sooner rather than later.
Although the 25-year-old might have claimed four Premier League titles during his time under Pep Guardiola, Jesus has made it clear that he will not be signing a new deal with the Sky Blues.
Despite being continuously linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, Cadena Ser reported on Monday that the Brazilian international has been offered to Los Blancos.
With it being suggested that Ancelotti’s side are keen on striking a deal, The Metro have reported that Jesus’ €5million-a-year demands should not be an issue.
Richarlison – Everton
While Richarlison might have been pictured in a training ground altercation with fellow Brazilian star Vinícius Junior last week, it has been suggested the two could be club mates this summer.
Although Everton might have managed to keep hold of their Premier League status this season, the Toffees are dealing with some rather public financial issues at Goodison Park.
With constant speculation surrounding the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison has already indicated that he could see his future away from Merseyside.
Firmly leaving the door open to a potential move away from the Premier League strugglers, Ancelotti worked closely with Richarlison during their time together at Everton last season.
Making it no secret that he is a huge admirer of the ex-Watford man, Spanish outlet LaOpinión reported over the weekend that Ancelotti is keen on bringing the 25-year-old to Madrid.
With Richarlison changing his agent back in April in the bid to push for a move away from Everton, Los Blancos could be smelling the chance to pounce on a cut-price deal.
