Agent: Chelsea and City interested in Mehmet Topal

The agent of Valencia midfielder Mehmet Topal has revealed that Chelsea and Manchester City are tracking his client.

The Turkish midfielder is not considering a first team regular at Mestalla, but he is still wanted by top European clubs.

The player’s agent, Batur Altiparnak has now confirmed that Chelsea and Manchester City have been scouting his client.

“They (Chelsea and Manchester City) have been watching him for two months now but I must stress there is nothing concrete from either club,” Altiparnak told International Business Times.

“We will reassess his future at the end of the season. He is happy in Valencia and has two and a half years left on his contract.”

Altiparnak then revealed that England and Spain were the most likely destinations.

“Obviously if the opportunity arose for him to take the next step in his career he would like to take it, but only if Valencia are willing.

“The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, but so is the Spanish Primera Division.”
