The agent of Universidad de Chile defender Igor Lichnovsky reveals that both Chelsea and Inter have shown interest in his client.
The 17-year-old attracted the attention of big European clubs with his solid displays for Chile Under-17 side, whereas he was recently handed a debut at Universidad de Chile.
The young defender started four games for the Chilean giants this season, helping the team win the Clausura title.
His impressive displays at club and international level have not gone unnoticed as Chelsea and Inter have both enquired about the player’s availability.
“Inter has been added to Chelsea in the race to the defender,” the player’s representative Rodrigo Robles told La Tercera.
“The club has contacted me in recent days for information on the economic terms of a deal.
“He still has four years left on his contract, but Inter will have to first enter into negotiations with his current club.”
Universidad de Chile chiefs are desperate to hold on to their prized asset, but they would be powerless to resist a big money offer from one of the interested clubs.
Lichnovsky holds an EU passport, which is one of the reasons why the aforementioned clubs are showing massive interest in his services.
