The agent of Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg have revealed that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the Dutch international.
The 29-year-old only joined Roma last summer in a €6.3 million deal from Ajax, but he was recently linked with a summer exit from Olimpico.
His representative now confirms that Tottenham have been showing interest in his client.
“Maarten is indeed one of the three goalkeepers who are on Tottenham Hotspur’s list,” agent Rob Jansen said to Voetbal International. “Several clubs have already enquired about him.”
Even if his client is currently happy at Roma, Jansen is not prepared a future move to the English Premier League.
“He is playing for a big club and is happy. But Tottenham are also a big club and it has always been a dream of Maarten to play in the Premier League.”
The Dutchman came through the youth ranks at Ajax and was handed a first team debut in February 2002.
Stekelenburg has made a total of 191 Eredivisie appearances for the Amsterdammers before joining Roma last summer.
He is currently the first choice keeper in the Netherlands national team and has started all three group games at the 2012 European Championship.
