As relayed by the Mirror, Nicolas Pepe’s agent has revealed that the talks of the winger’s transfer from Lille are underway.
Samir Khiat, who represents the 23-year-old, spoke to RTL and told them that, at the moment, there are no favorites among the potential destinations for his client, neither in terms of a league nor a club.
Lille owner Gerard Lopez recently removed all doubt about Pepe leaving the club in the summer. Head coach Christophe Galtier added to that by expressing his belief that he would make a fine addition to Paris Saint-Germain after Thomas Tuchel spoke highly of the player.
Apart from PSG, Pepe has been heavily linked with Barcelona, while Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have also been mentioned. The Mirror believe the reported price tag of £75 million is likely to deter the Gunners from making a serious effort, and they add Chelsea may be the best bet among the Premier League clubs as they look to replace the Real-bound Eden Hazard, always presuming, of course, that the Blues win their appeal and aren’t prevented from making any signings this summer.
