Agent expects Mauri to stay at Lazio

Stefano Mauri’s agent, Tiziano Gonzaga, expects the Lazio ace to stay at the club.

Mauri has been linked with a January move to Juventus and his agent stated earlier this month that his client was set to leave the club.

But now the agent has hit back at the comments, claiming they were taken out of context.

“It was just a provocation and I was misunderstood,” he told Calciomercato.it.

“That phrase was taken out of context and was part of a much longer interview, but obviously they put more emphasis on that.”

“I truly believe he will stay at Lazio, as the President is unwilling to sell him,” continued Gonzaga.

“We have not been approached by the Bianconeri and I repeat that there will be no more news about Stefano’s future in January.”
