(GSM) – Federico Macheda’s agent has dismissed speculation linking the Manchester United striker with a return to Serie A with Palermo.
The 18-year-old, who joined the Red Devils from Lazio in 2007 on a four- year contract, has been linked with a move back to his homeland.
However, Macheda’s agent Giovanni Bia has denied interest from Palermo conceding that the player’s future will depend on Manchester United’s plans for the teenager.
Bia told palermo24.net: “Interest of Palermo? I know nothing about it, Palermo have not contacted me.
“For now Federico is in Manchester and is well there, but it is (too) soon to talk about next season.
“He has a four years contract there. I don’t think that Manchester would give away a player like him.
“But it is still too early – I have not spoken with Manchester United and I have not had contact with Palermo.
“Maybe they think he is unsellable as in January, (they) are currently not able to answer.
“The future of Macheda depends on Manchester United.”
