(GSM) – Maicon can still make a move to Real Madrid despite waning interest from Spain, according to the player’s agent.
The Internazionale full-back had already been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabéu earlier in the summer, following former Inter boss Jose Mourinho’s arrival at the Madrid club.
However, the move seemed to be jeopardized by Inter’s asking price which was informed to Real at €35million to secure Brazilian’s signature.
Mourinho has since cooled his interest in the Samba star, with reports suggesting he has turned his attention elsewhere.
But Maicon’s representative claims a deal could yet be put in place with the summer transfer window not due to close until the end of August.
“It seems that things have gone cold, especially as everyone is concentrated on the Mario Balotelli situation, and this pleases me – it means Maicon can enjoy his holidays in peace,” Antonio Caliendo told Sky Italia.
“However, the Real Madrid option for my client has not collapsed. History has taught us that the summer transfer window often closes with a bang.”
