(GSM) – Alberto Gilardino’s agent has dismissed rumours linking the Fiorentina striker with a possible big-money summer move to Manchester City.
Reports from Italy have suggested that City boss Roberto Mancini was lining up a summer move for Gilardino, who also happens to be Viola’s top scorer this term with 15 goals in 35 games.
And Gilardino was also reportedly considering his future at the Artemio Franchi after a disappointing campaign for the Viola.
However, Gilardino’s representative, Marcello Bonetto, insists he has heard nothing from City and that Fiorentina have not mentioned anything about any interest from the English side.
“I don’t know anything about City and I think that right now they are concentrating on the Premier League,” Bonetto told calciomercato.com.
“However, it is a question to ask to Fiorentina and not to us.
“Yesterday we met with Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino, we have examined friendliness and future programmes in general with Fiorentina.
“But Corvino made no mention of having received an offer from the City.”
