(GSM) – Roman Pavlyuchenko’s agent has claimed that the striker has no plans of leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer as he is “necessary for Harry Redknapp”.
The 28-year-old Russia international had been linked with an exit from White Hart Lane following failure to force his way into first-team last season.
With lack of appearances Moscow clubs Spartak Moskva and Lokomotiv Moskva were reportedly tracking the forward, as were rivals Zenit St Petersburg and Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.
But the player who made just eight Premier League starts last term, is being tipped by his agent Oleg Artemov to stay at the London club, saying he is still in Harry Redknapp’s plans.
“Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not going to let Roman leave, he is necessary for Harry Redknapp,” he said in the Daily Star.
“Roman himself does not want to leave England but, if that does happen, he will return to a Russian club.
“We have noted information appeared regarding the possible departure of the striker. Among contenders were Sporting Lisbon and Spartak Moskva.
“But I did not see any movement from Spartak – there were no specifics.
“Interest from both Zenit and Lokomotiv, as was reported in Britain, was nothing.”
