Agent: Porto enquired about Defour

The agent of Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour has confirmed that Porto have enquired about his client.

The highly rated midfielder has been linked with a number of Premiership clubs in the past, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

Standard are looking to cash in on their star players this summer, as witnessed by the fact that he was not included in their Champions League squad.

The player’s agent has now revealed that Porto are leading the race for the 23-year-old.

“Porto called me for information about Defour,” Paul Stefani told Radio Renascenca.

“Mr Antero Henry (Porto’s sporting director) called me to enquire about Defour’s situation.

”There may be a proposal, but we have to wait a couple of days. In two or three days we may have some news.”
