(GSM) – Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is interested in bringing Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure to the Emirates, according to his agent Dimitri Seluk.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League with either Manchester City or Manchester United but now he is keen on a move to the Gunners.
“There’s a lot of interest in the deal for Toure. Arsene Wenger likes him and Arsenal are interested,” the agent Seluk told TV station Rac-1.
“If the conditions are good, everything can be finalised soon.
“He could come into the Cesc Fabregas deal, but Barca and Arsenal are struggling to come to an agreement.
“Everything has changed with City, because they talk a lot but then afterwards they don’t appear to be a rich club, but rather a bankrupt one.”
Toure joined Barcelona in a €9m deal from Monaco in June 2007 and immediately became a regular, adapting to a more defensive midfield role.
