Bayern Munich starlet Xherdan Shaqiri could continue his career in Italian Serie A, according to the player’s official representative.
The 23-year-old footballer has suggested he is looking to leave Alianz Arena in search of first team football and even though club chiefs do not want to sell, it appears they will have no choice in the January transfer window.
Shaqiri has clearly set his sights on leaving Bayern and his agent has now revealed that Italian Serie A looks the most likely destination.
“I have offered Shaqiri to several Italian sides,” agent Ulisse Savini explained to Radio Crc. “In particular, I spoke to Napoli.
”If Callejon or one of his teammates leave, Shaqiri would be a perfect player (to replace him).”
Manchester United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with moves for the Switzerland international in the past and the European giants could step up their interest in the upcoming transfer window.
While struggling for playing time at club level, Shaqiri has impressed on international stage, netting three times at the 2014 World Cup before scoring as many goals in four Euro 2016 qualifiers for Switzerland.
