Toronto FC have pulled off a major coup as they completed the signing of talented midfielder Ager Aketxe from Athletic Club.
The club funded the deal using Targeted Allocation Money, although the player has yet to receive Canadian work permit and International Transfer Certificate.
The attacking midfielder decided to move to Major League Soccer after struggling for playing time at Athletic, and he seems to have made a good career choice.
While making 14 appearances for los Leones in La Liga, Akexte impressed during the loan spell with Cadiz, where he scored 5 goals in 18 outings.
The 24-year-old, who represented Spain at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey back in 2013, is expected to make quite an impact at the club.
