Atletico Madrid sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch has revealed that the club has increased Sergio Aguero’s buy-out clause to €60 million.
The highly rated striker has been linked to several clubs this summer, but has insisted that he would like to stay at Atletico.
Garcia Pitarch said at a press conference: “Last year, we had a negotiation to set his buy-out clause at €55 million, which will be increased to €60 million this year, and that has already come into effect.â€Â
He added: “At the moment, we are not going to review his clause again and we are very calm about his future. Moreover, he has shown that he is not interested at all in leaving Atlético Madrid.â€Â
The Argentine finished as the 3rd highest goalscorer in La Liga last season with 19 goals.
Aguero joined Atletico Madrid from Argentine side Independiente for 20 million euros and became the Spanish club’s most expensive player at the time.
